This review has been a long-time coming. Several months ago, I got some clothes to test drive from DaddyScrubs.

I didn’t want to just post something as soon as I got them, because I wanted to really give these clothes a test drive and see how they age.

The products I received are:

Vintage Hoodie Moss Green: $54.95

What can I say? I make this thing look goooood….oh wait, no it’s the other way around. In fact, I am sitting in Starbucks right now, wearing this hoodie. From the day I got it, this thing has been soft and warm. I live in Florida, so there’s not a lot of call for heavy winter wear here. That means, I wear a lot of sweatshirts, hoodies, etc. One thing I’ve grown to hate with all of these, is the ‘break-in’ time. Sure, they look awesome when you first get them, but they aren’t very supple, and they take several washings before they get good and broke-in.

Not this one. It was magnificent from the first day I put it on. It really does feel like I’ve had it for years, not just a few short months. Now, I’m a big guy, so it’s hard for me to also find one that is roomy enough for me. (At least with the pull-overs.) This one has room to spare. I got the 2XL and I’m pretty sure a single XL would have sufficed.

In short, I love this hoodie. Next, I received a shirt…but it’s no longer in stock. But never fear!

Classic Tee Navy Edgy: $22.95

Now, you may be noticing the shirt I’m wearing is different then the product on the page I sent you. And there’s a reason for that. The shirt I’m wearing is in the ‘Vintage’ line and is no longer available. The link is to the ‘Edgy’ line. And it doesn’t matter!

I’m a stay at home dad and as such, tshirts and shorts are sort of my unofficial uniform. That means, I’m picky about my shirts. And this one is in my regular rotation, and has been since the day I got it. From the first wash, it has been one of the softest tshirts I own. Not to mention, hefty. It’s not made from the cheapo cotton you run into sometimes. Nope. Hefty, thick, soft and comfy. It felt like a broke-in tshirt almost immediately.

I love it, too!

Conclusions:

Sure, they cost more than some other products out there. But you get what you pay for. Do you want a shirt or hoodie that looks neat but will see little wear because they aren’t comfortable? Or do you want one that is trendy, unique, and amazingly comfortable and durable? Being a dad is hard work, and with a newborn around, your tshirts are going to take a pounding from being barfed on, spit-up on, peed on, and occasionally pooped on. These garments are made for your time in the trenches. And you’ll get some looks, nods, and comments from the “I’m the Daddy!” message. I know I have!

Disclaimer: These products were provided to me for free. That doesn’t change my opinion of these garments in the least. The opinions on this page are mine and mine alone.
