You all know me as DiaperDad, and that’s great. Except, I’m hitting my outer limit on diaper changing. My youngest is now potty training, and soon, I will no longer be a “Dad Who Changes Diapers”…

So, where does that leave me?

Existential Crisis

My blog was started as an outlet for my main site. You know the one… It’s the place a new dad can go to help find dad-friendly changing stations. You know, so they can be a Dad Who Changes Diapers too! But I’ve run into a snag. My kids are getting bigger. Big enough to outgrow those diapers. And while I’m happy for that, it’s left me wondering…

What’s next?

Well, as my kids grow, so should my blog. After all, it would be a little weird to still be talking exclusively about diapers when my kids are 8 or 10 years old, right? Never fear, the focus of my site will always be about dads changing diapers. That part won’t change. But what changes is what’s coming down the pike. And, I’ve been thinking about where I’m headed as a blogger. I’ve been really mulling it over for the last couple of months. Then, one day I got…

The Call

Okay, so it wasn’t a call per se. It was more of an internet message. The illustrious DadScribe shot me a message on facebook:

Disney. Sunday-Tuesday. You and your family, or just you. If you’re interested, we can make it happen.

What was I supposed to say? No? Yeah, right. I jumped on that like a dingo on a –okay bad analogy. I jumped all over it. After a day of swapping information, we were going on an IMPROMPTU VACATION!

Seriously, we only had like four days notice.  But, I digress.

We packed up and headed towards Orlando. The kids were excited about the prospects of meeting Mickey and his crew. My wife was excited to be getting away from work for a few days. And I was desperately wondering what I was going to see that might be relevant to my blog. Turns out…I got way more than I bargained for.

Over the course of the next week, I’ll be writing several posts about my visit. Some of what I’m saying will be in regards to what we were presented with over the course of three days. Some of it will be about my thoughts and feelings on what I saw. Most of it will be about finding a new calling as a proverbial ‘dad-blogger’. Is this going to be “How Scotty Got His Groove Back”? No. But, it has opened my eyes to something that I have been staring at for a couple of months now, and never realized it.

Here’s a few teaser shots:

More to come. So so much more. The last four days have been transformative. Join me, won’t you?

All bloggers experience a blog transformation. We began our journey writing and telling one story and then along the way, we discover there are other stories to tell. I can’t wait to read about your new blogger nirvana (for lack of a better term – lol) and your Disney experience.
